Welcome to Sunday Worship on the Web March 28

If we cannot be with each other in body we can at least be with each other in spirit. Below is a Children's video for kids to watch and then an audio recording of scripture readings, prayers and sermon. You can follow along by scrolling down the page. At the bottom there are some worship music videos you can watch and some announcements.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.

For yours is the power

Yours is the glory

forever and ever.

Amen

Psalm 23

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2     He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3     he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

A Prayer

From Johann Habermann (1516 - 1590)

Almighty and merciful God,

who is the strength of the weak,

the refreshment of the weary,

the comfort of the sad,

the help of the tempted,

the life of the dying,

the God of patience

and of all consolation;

you know full well the inner weakness of our nature,

how we tremble and quiver before pain,

and cannot bear the cross without your divine help and support.

Help me, eternal and pitying God,

help me to possess my soul in patience,

to maintain unshaken hope in you,

to keep that childlike trust which feels a Father’s heart hidden beneath the cross;

so shall I be strengthened with power according to your glorious might,

in all patience and long-suffering;

I shall be enabled to endure pain and temptation,

and, in the very depth of my suffering, to praise you with a joyful heart.
Amen.

Matthew 6:5-13

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
    as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from the evil one.’

Closing Prayer

By Henri Nouwen - A Cry for Mercy

Dear Lord, give me a growing desire to pray.
It remains so hard for me to give my time generously to you. I am still greedy for time -
time to be useful, effective, successful, time to perform, excel, produce.
But you, O Lord, ask nothing else than
my simple presence,
my humble recognition of my nakedness,
my defenceless confession of my sins,
so that you can let the rays of your love enter my heart and give me the deep knowledge that I can love because you have loved me first,
that I can offer acceptance because you have accepted me first,
and that I can do good because you have shown me your goodness first.
Please Lord, let me love you freely, boldly, courageously, and generously.
Amen.

Some closing worship songs

I picked two contemporary and one traditional song for us to listen to as we close our time together. Take your pick or listen to them all if you like. I also added more than one video of two of the videos because I like acoustic versions of songs.

Lord I Need You - Chris Tomlin - With lyrics

Lord I Need You - Matt Mayer and Audrey Assad - Acoustic version

In Christ Alone - Adrienne Liesching and Geoff Moore - With Lyrics

In Christ Alone - Lauren Daigle - it's acoustic and her voice is fantastic

All The People Said Amen - Matt Maher - It is hard to find worship music that is plural and not singular, this song is about us the church and is also referencing the sermon on the mount.
